WCOPA is very proud to announce that MARIA GRACE KOH, age 21 from Brunei Darussalem, has been selected as the official hostess for the 19th Annual World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA), held July 10 – 19, 2015 in Long Beach, California – “Hollywood at the Beach!” And it’s not every day that you come across a national athlete turned singer-songwriter!”
This is the third consecutive year that the hostess has been selected from a field of uniquely talented, former WCOPA contestants from around the world i.e. Moldova, Australia and now Brunei.
Maria was a multi-medalist winner (vocal and instrumentalist) at WCOPA 2013 and 2014. As a result, she has now worked with Indasoul Records in recording her original songs under her stage name “Eia.” Her newly released single That’s The Way can be downloaded on iTunes and in the near future, her album will be available.
Besides being an accomplished singer, she plays the piano, violin, flute, drums and is a seasoned dancer. As a national swimming champion, she was honored in 2008 as “Sportswoman of the Year” and selected to represent Brunei at the Beijing Olympics.
One of her treasured experiences was performing for Prince Charles during his Royal Visit to Brunei.
Having just finished her studies at LaSalle College of the Arts, she graduated with a BA and First Class Honors in Performing Arts – Music and Vocals.
